Please remember that as of July 1, 2007 the state of Virginia EMT exams both written and practical will reflect the most current AHA Guidelines for Emergency Cardiovascular Care (CPR). Several changes were made for health care practitioners including compression to breath ratios so be sure to be familiar with the new protocols before you take the exam.
The EMT Reciprocity rules for Virginia are very specific. If you are coming from out of state and intend on working in Virginia as an EMT or Paramedic then please review the page above. To find a Virginia approved EMT training program you can use the states Approved EMT Course Search to find an EMT course by region, date and level. Once you complete your EMT course you will be permitted to take the EMT exams administered by the Department of Health.

Here you can find the EMT-Intermediate Self Study and Application as well. Additionally we recommend subscribing to the NREMT practice test application here on EMT National Training. Used as a study aide these NREMT practice tests will help prepare you for the real thing. Each of our EMS questions comes complete with answer and reasoning. You will learn right there on the exam from the questions you got incorrect. You will not be forced to dig through your EMT text books to find the rationale or reasoning behind the answer.
